Steve Stone was born in Manchester on 19th March 1964. At the age of 17 he entered a foundation course and was accepted by Trent Polytechnic School of Art, where he began to develop an interest in film-making and produced five short films. He graduated in June 1985 with 2-1 BA Hons in Fine Art.

His film "Where is She Babe" was noticed by Tense Productions, a Sheffield-based company that put major rave events together, and he was offered the position of art director. This provided him with the opportunity not only to work extensively in the United States but also to work with highly complex computer systems running light shows and montage video projections. For 10 years he remained in this business, working at the cutting edge in computer technology.

Upon his return to society Steve decided to put this experience to good use and, after buying the necessary computers and software, he launched the highly individual graphics company Nexus DNA in March 1996.

Steve's first collection of digital art, Nexus DNA, was published by Archangel in June 1998.

Steve lives outside Wakefield in West Yorkshire with his partner, Sian.
